Kelly Christmas!

On Sunday the 23rd we celebrated Christmas with my family. My brother and Erica just got in from Colorado late Saturday night and were leaving Monday morning so we got to spend the day with them on Sunday. Definitely not enough time but was great seeing them! We will see them one more night on their way back to Colorado from Michigan!

Aj went to the store with Monte and Erica and bought Lincoln his first sled. He LOVED it!!

Christmas with the Manfulls!

We had our first Christmas on Saturday the 22nd with AJ’s family. We all wore our pajamas – my kind of day! We started out with a delicious lunch then let the kids open their presents. Once they went down for naps the adults opened gifts. The guys then went out to the garage to AJ’s dad’s newly remodeled area.. aka his “man cave” :) They played bags and darts. We had a great day spending time with family. For supper we enjoyed a birthday cake for Jesus and sang to him!!

I was wrong..

About keeping the tree alone! Lincoln did pretty good for a couple of weeks but then became too tempted. He leaves the tree alone at daycare but then at night wants to play with it. I would tell him no and take him away but then he through tantrums. He became lucky on Thursday and Friday because school was cancelled so he stayed home with me and I was sick… that meant I was way weak and didn’t have it in me to pull him away. There are pretty much no ornaments on the bottom half of the tree. He likes to think they are a nice ball and throws them on the tile and then chases after them repeating over and over! Oh well, some things I give up on :)
Then..
12-1-12 019The bottom half still is fully decorated!
Now..
12-24-12 091 12-24-12 092 Pretty bare on the bottom now!
Here’s Lincoln up to no good throwing the ornaments and chasing after them:)

16 months!

*very loud and vocal!

*Points to things he wants and opens and closes his hands fast when wants something

*Started new daycare after Thanksgiving

*Still takes 2 naps. Morning nap about 1 1/2 hours and afternoon nap usually 2 1/2 hours

*Goes to bed between 7 and 7:30 and I usually have to wake him up in the morning at 7:15 otherwise would sleep until 7:30 or later

*So close to walking (I say that a lot). He actually just walked a step to get to the coffee table! He likes to walk on his hands and feet and is trying to push himself up to standing now!

*Has gone through some odd phases this past month. The car seat has not been a favorite for Lincoln. He gets mad and takes off his shoes and his socks and chucks them. For a week and a half spit out and threw all his food at lunch and supper. Had some major attitude. During his tantrums he would bang his head on the floor, even the tile. I do NOT like this! He has been better these past few days, let’s hope this phase does not last long! He’s been drooling a lot lately so I’m not sure if another molar is going to pop through or not..

*He loves his mama and daddy and won’t always go to other people. Dropping him off at daycare in the mornings hasn’t been the easiest as he cries and clings to my legs. Once he cuddles with Lynn he is good to go. Then when I get there to pick him up he just wants to keep playing! Lincoln loves her son who is in 4th grade. From the first day Lincoln started there he raised his arms for Drew and loves playing with him when he is home!

*Loves to climb on tables, play with belts, remotes, hats, and things he’s not supposed to be playing with!

Anytime he climbs on top of a table he has to clap, ha :)

More Thanksgiving break

On the Friday after Thanksgiving we put up the tree, decorations and outside Christmas lights. I was so worried about having the tree up with Lincoln. He gets into everything! Really I am quite impressed that he pretty much leaves it alone. Occasionally he takes an ornament down. I really didn’t even know if our tree would still be standing or not!

That night we went to the kick off of Holiday Hoopla downtown. It was cold but we bundled up and ventured out. We didn’t even make it long enough to see Santa arrive but still had fun. Lincoln was getting ancy and just wanted to get down but it’s still hard since he’s not walking yet. We bought him a sucker at the candy store. I thought it was cherry. Aj said it smelled kind of hot. It was actually sizzling cinnamon. No wonder he was smacking his lips! He kept wanting more!

12-1-12 029 He loved looking at the lights!

On Saturday Lincoln and I decided to go with AJ to Coraville Mall. He was meeting a guy there who was buying one of his 3 wheelers that doesn’t work. We didn’t have anything to do so thought we would join him for the drive. Lincoln did pretty good. He didn’t wake up until 8:15 that morning so we left shortly after. He ate breakfast in the car and was happy as could be. I let him take his remote with him so he was pretty excited about that. We didn’t stay at the mall long. Lincoln went on his first carousel ride and loved it! Later that afternoon after nap Lincoln and I went over to see my grandma. He had fun exploring there and seeing her dog.
