Christmas 2013

This Christmas was a little bit different as my mom was in the hospital from her lung surgery. We went to Christmas Eve service at church but ended up having to drive to IC after for an emergency surgery my mom had to have. AJ’s parents stayed with Lincoln until we got home late that night. For the church service I had planned on taking Lincoln to the nursery but once he saw Grandpa Manfull he wanted to just cuddle on his lap! He made it about 30 minutes until he got ancy and was kicking the chair in front of him. I think if I came prepared with snacks he would have lasted the whole time! Christmas day we had our own little family Christmas at home then went to lunch at my grandma’s then spent the rest of the day and night having Christmas with AJ’s family. We had a great day all together! We had my families Christmas after Monte and Erica got back to Iowa and after my mom got home from the hospital. Lincoln definitely got the hang of the opening gift process and had so much fun!

  

 

  

  

  

    

We have so much to be thankful for!

We’re still here…

Oh I know it's been awhile! It's been a little crazy these past few months and I just couldn't get in the mood to blog. We now have our internet fixed and a new computer so I think I am ready to get back into it!

Lincoln has changed so much and is growing up so fast. He is such a joy but can still be a little stinker..what 2 year old isn't!? 

What he is working on currently: POTTY training! We are on day 2. I knew he was ready a little while ago but with all that has been going on, just wasn't ready to start that adventure. We haven't left the house in two days to work on this. I know all our Christmas festivities might be a bump in the road. Yesterday morning he had 4 accidents on the tile floor and bathroom rugs. Since yesterday morning he hasn't had an accident and is now telling me when he has to go. He even ran to the potty to poop yesterday!! It will be so nice to be done with diapers in the day!

His smile

This boy has a smile that melts my heart. He has the best hugs and kisses and wants to give them to me all day long. I will accept them all day long, everyday.

Farm Crawl 2013

We went again this year to Hansen’s Dairy in Hudson for the Farm Crawl. Lincoln loved the goats!! The best part was getting ice cream before we left. Oh and Lincoln driving the pink tractor was pretty darn cute:)

A Puppy Party!

We had Lincoln’s 2 year birthday party Saturday August 10th. We had his party out at Gateway Park. It was such a beautiful day but a little warm. That didn’t stop any of the kids from playing and having fun. Lincoln loves dogs (all animals in fact) so I thought it was perfect for a doggy theme. For food we had hot dogs, puppy chow served in dog bowls, fruit, chips and puppy cupcakes. His party was the same day as the Cedar Valley Trails festival. It worked out perfect because there was free face painting and balloon animals. I planned that well, ha :) Lincoln got so many fun gifts and has loved playing with all his new toys. He is a very well loved boy:)

On Lincoln’s actual birthday our family all came over for pizza and a few more presents!

Our 2 year old boy

*Lincoln is one of the busiest little boys I know

*He has such a fun imagination and loves to explore and just figure life out

*His speech is continuing to blossom and has new words everyday. He is finally mimicking us much more!

*Has a mind of his own and can still be super stubborn

*Books are still his new love. Night time is one of my most favorite times where we all cuddle up together and just read

*Loves to boss the dogs around now to tell them to go and go to bed!

*He has mastered climbing out of his crib at home so we took the front side off and now he just has a mesh rail on. We were shocked at how well that transition went. He stays in bed all night but does get up and pound on his door when he is ready to get up and play! Sometimes if we talk to him in his camera monitor to go back and lay down then he usually will.

*Lincoln continues to be a fabulous eater and seems to eat a lot more lately

*Still a very clumsy boy..there’s always some new bruise where we have no idea where it’s from!

*2 year molars are starting to finally peek!

*This boy just melts our hearts and makes us the happiest parents in the world. We love this two year old of ours :)

Time for fish

We have been talking to Lincoln for awhile about getting fish. Well, it finally happened and oh boy was he excited:) I think we started with 8 and are down to 1 … yikes. We are now learning how to best keep this tank clean so hopefully we will have better luck when we get more!

Lincoln was up past his bed time…but he was such a big helper!

It looks so cool in his room…well it did when it was full of fish. Tucker the sucker is pretty lonely in there at the moment ;)

Trip to the Arboretum

This summer we kept busy meeting our friends weekly for fun outings! This day we went to the Cedar Valley Arboretum. It was a beautiful day and we had so much fun there. We definitely need to come back!

Wellsburg Petting Zoo

Back in July we went with friends to Wellsburg to their petting zoo. It was such a fun kid friendly place! We cooked hot dogs and s’mores over the fire and all brought some food to share. Monte and Erica were in town with his for a couple days before heading back to Colorado so they were able to join us. We can’t wait to go back, especially this Fall!

TWO!!

I have lots to say about this sweet loving boy of mine….but for today it will just be HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my amazing little TWO year old!!! We love this boy to pieces!
